Noy's extended family in Champasak hosts a traditional baci (sou-kwan) ceremony — a small blessing that's part of every important moment in Lao life. Elders tie white cotton strings around your wrists with personal blessings, sticky rice is shared, and the village monks come in for the chant. It's a private, family-scale ceremony, not a tourist show.
