Up the hill from Nong Khiaw, Khamla's aunt cooks in an open-fire smoke kitchen. You'll grill river fish, pound jeow bong, steam sticky rice in bamboo, and finish with house-made lao-lao rice wine. Khamla translates and tells the village stories his grandfather told him.
