A 4 a.m. wake-up to climb Mount Phou Si for sunrise over the Mekong, then down to the old quarter to take part in the daily tak bat — the orange line of monks collecting alms. Bounmy will help you prepare sticky rice the night before so you can give respectfully and not on impulse.

About your guide
Bounmy.
Bounmy was born in Ban Xieng Lek, a small village 12 kilometers from Luang Prabang. He started guiding informally in 2011, became fully licensed in 2014, and has led over 800 tours through Luang Prabang Province.
Specialties: Cultural sites, waterfalls, photography spots, family tours.
Tour philosophy: “Show fewer places, but show them properly.”
