The classic slow-boat ticket — Huay Xai to Luang Prabang in two days, with the overnight stop in Pakbeng. Captain Malaykham's family runs one of three boats on the route; the deck has cushioned benches, soft drinks for sale, and snacks. The Pakbeng guesthouse is booked separately on arrival (we'll WhatsApp recommendations).

Schedule & meeting
Daily departure 08:30. Boat fills first-come; book early in Nov–Feb.
Huay Xai slow-boat pier, 07:30 day of departure.
Cancellation
Free cancellation up to 72 hours before. After that the deposit covers the seat reservation.

Is the Pakbeng guesthouse included?
No — the slow-boat companies don't run accommodation. Captain Malaykham will WhatsApp three trusted family-run guesthouses on arrival; rooms are $10–18.
