The city has plenty of guesthouses, but a homestay is a different thing — you sleep in a family’s house, you eat breakfast with them, dinner is by arrangement.
Most are within a 15-minute walk of the night market. A couple are in villages across the Nam Khan, with a small boat for the crossing.
